Big Day - Another 3 Months

Bill put it nicely recently. We live in 3 month increments not knowing if we are going back into surgery or not. Each cardiology appointment we have gets harder and harder as we know the leaking of the valves is increasing and based on our last conversation with the cardiologist her heart rhythm had changed and something we have to keep an eye on. She described it as the heart is not receiving the signal from the sinus node as it should but from a different area of the heart. She didn't elaborate on any of it, other than saying let's see what happens at the next echo and appointment. So here we are. Last she said the next open heart surgery is going to be earlier than they originally thought. Somewhere between now and 4 year of age but probably sooner.

I've been having a particularly hard time these past couple of days with this upcoming appointment. Perhaps because I was looking for pictures to make cards for a few of Madison's doctors that have gone the extra mile for us to say Thank You. As I looked at the pictures of Boston and now have the images stuck in my head I tear up as I think of all we've been through in less then a years time.Through it all God has and continues to be faithful!

Moments before leaving for Boston.
Literally minutes before Madison was going to be taken to surgery. Bill and Abigail were stuck in traffic and then the elevator was down when he got to the hospital and almost didn't make it to give her hugs and kisses before surgery. Thank you Lord for allowing us to all be together! A true miracle because normally surgeries are earlier then normal this day but they were a little delayed this day (only by a few minutes) but just enough time for kisses and hugs. God is never late but always on time! Praise God!

Seconds before I had to hand her over to the surgeons.
As you can see I didn't want to let her go and the doors were now open for us to go in.
There is another picture of the surgical team and me moments before she was being taken to the OR but I can't find them. I just saw them the other day so I have to search for them!

Abigail made a new friend, Haley in the surgical waiting area. She never really takes to people quickly but with Haley she did. Haley's sister was also going through open heart surgery (also about the same age as Madison).

Dr. Baird after the surgery letting us know how things went and taking a  minute to pose with Abigail.

The surgery was complete and a success (so we thought). So we changed into our Madison recovery shirts (even the bears) and put the lollipops near Madison's bed so everyone could take some.

My precious Madison after surgery. Oh how we love you !

Lord as we begin this day! Let us remember you are in control and have each of us in the palm of your hand. Your plan is perfect and you see what we don't. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding." Psalm 3:5-6

Time Goes By So Fast...

Here it is January 21, 2013! So much has happend in the past few weeks and it's so hard to get on the computer to blog.

Abigail's vocabulary is increasing by leaps and bounds daily and I just love her hunger and thirst to learn. She is starting to say sentences. "baby down", "snow play", "cow bite". Some of her more common words the past week or so have been "yeah", "play", "stuck", "like", "bug", "pengo".

She let's you know when she likes something and doesn't. It's usually by saying "like" with a head shake up and down for like or side to side no with a little crinkle of her nose. :-)

Madison watches so intently our lips when we speak and then will look directly into our eyes. I remember pastor Wiles visiting and holding Abigail saying see how she watches your lips, she is trying to learn form you. Well Madison is now doing that. Madison's primary mode of getting places is by scooting her cute little butt. She can get quite far using this method.
